IPL 2021 in Mohali Amid COVID-19: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was surprised at the exclusion of the Mohali cricket stadium ahead of the Indian Premier League 2021.
Captain Amarinder Singh said that “I am surprised at the exclusion of Mohali Cricket Stadium for the upcoming IPL season. I urge and appeal to BCCI and IPL to reconsider their decision.”

He further said that there was no reason why Mohali can’t host IPL 2021. Adding, he said that the Punjab Government will make all necessary arrangements for safety against Covid-19.
While a final decision remains to be taken, it has been reported that Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Delhi have been tentatively chosen as possible venues.

However, a final decision is likely to be taken soon by the BCCI senior management along with the IPL governing council.
Also, the IPL 2021 will finalise the tournament dates, which have not been announced yet. The tournament is likely to start anywhere between April 8-12 and may stretch until the end of the May-early June period.
As per the latest data published by the Union Health Ministry, Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat are witnessing an upsurge in daily new cases.
