IND vs AUS 2020: The upcoming Australia vs India Boxing Day Test in Border-Gavaskar Series is all set to have crowd at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
The development comes after the announcement from the head of government in the Australian state of Victoria Daniel Andrews. The government has eased the Covid-19 restrictions following a sharp decline in the number of coronavirus cases.
As per the report, Premier Andrews told reporters that the “The Boxing Day Test of course is very different because that is some way off.”
He was confident that there will be crowd at the MCG for the Australia vs India Boxing Day Test. He did not knew about how big the crowd will be but there will be a crowd, he added.
During India tour of Australia in 2018-19, the Virat Kohli-led side had won the third Test at MCG by an innings to retain the Trophy of Border-Gavaskar series.
The upcoming Australia tour, IND vs AUS 2020, will comprise three T20Is, three ODIs and four Test matches, which is expected to be commence on November 27. However, the official announcement is yet to be announced.
Reportedly, the limited-overs leg of the tour will be played in Sydney and Canberra next month.
According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, the Cricket Australia and the New South Wales state government have reached an agreement for the Indian team and Australian players returning from the ongoing IPL 2020 being held in the UAE to quarantine in Sydney.
